Comeback Shack

Hi everyone. Tomorrow is Alpha Phi comeback shack night! Come out to support women's heart health and the Alpha Phi foundation. All the proceeds will go toward these two philanthropies and will help with these issues greatly. Women's heart disease is the number one killer for women in the U.S. and the number two for men, which is something I did not realize until I joined the Alpha Phi Sorority. Since then, I have payed more attention to how many people worldwide this disease affects, and it's sad that there are so many ways to prevent this disease! Kind of ironic how greasy comeback shack is the place to raise the money for this cause lol, but even just coming out to grab something small will help! Thanks yall! xoxo

Study, study, study...

... My life this week, and I'm sure everyone elses too since exams, papers, and presentations are coming up. Its so odd because I do not want to graduate college (I am a junior), but I cant wait for summer! It like I want time to stand still but at the same time I am excited to be able to put certain aspects of life behind me and say that I have accomplished certain things. I feel like I should go ahead and start studying for the GRE, which is also scary because I did not do so well on the SAT. I am excited, nervous, and sad about graduating in a year and I just know it is going to fly by so fast. I guess I will just have to live it up as best as I can this last year I have, and keep up with my school work at the same time, that way I can look back and not have any regrets. I hope everyone has a great week!!! xoxo

Lipsync last night...

..Was so legit! I am in Alpha Phi and was so proud of my girls that participated. I also enjoyed literally every single performance, and truly thought that the winners deserved to win (Delta Zeta). It also was cool because our sorority placed third in all of Greek Week, which was awesome because we worked very hard for this, as did all sororities I am sure. I am just happy to be apart of the Greek community and to be able to come together for events such as lipsync and Greek Games, and to be able to raise and donate so much money to different local places that are in need. I am also going to the suicide prevention awareness kickoff tonight which will be a good cause to support. Everyone come out and support the ones that got this event together! Have a great rest of the week! xoxo

My new pet...

.....is a guinea pig!!! I got him for free from my friend who didn't want him anymore because she was moving from her apartment, and I am soooo excited! His name is kuechly, named after the Carolina Panthers linebacker luke kuechly (very good looking) lol. He's precious and has a mohawk :) I will be posting many pictures of him on Instagram and Facebook so stay tuned and get excited!

In other news, I have been very involved in Greek Week week all weekend as well. It has been alot of fun but it was disappointing that the Greek games got rained out today. Lip sync is tomorrow though so I am looking forward to that as well. Everyone come out to watch all of Greek life break it down on stage in Convocation center at six oclock!!! Have a fabulous week!!!

Social media

I was thinking today about how social media can either be beneficial or problematic. I think it is helpful to many people when it comes to following the news or making things simpler and more convenient. On the other hand, I was thinking how creepy some types of social media have gotten, such as on Twitter how one is able to view peoples "favorites" and on snap chat being able to view others "top friends"... it just seems like these days stalking someone would be so easy. I also was thinking, how old is too old to have social medias such as these? Should I be deleting my twitter soon? haha just some random thoughts I have been thinking about today for some reason. But I must say, Instagram is my thing. Idk why, but I just love pictures! haha

My sisters wedding

Soooo my sister is getting married in June, and its crunch time for the entire family. She is freaking out, my mom is freaking out, my dad is worried about messing up the "father daughter dance" and I am the clueless maid of honor probably doing more harm than good lol. Despite the drama, I am sooo excited!!!! I love her fiance, all the dresses, decorations, and everything we have planned so far. Now the only thing I need to focus on is her bachelorette party. Any cool suggestions? We're going to the beach, and I cannot wait. I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week as well!!

Just a blessed post..

I am so happy that I decided to choose the topic of stuttering for my Lit. review topic. Not only has stuttering been a main topic in many classes lately (especially with myself and the lit. review), but I feel that I have learned so much through research that I did not even consider before, and I have seen so many views and ideas that people who stutter have shared. The article "Did I Stutter?" and the one from "The Washington Post" that we read for Dr. Dalton's class were also so intriguing, and helped me to really put myself in the shoes of one who stutters as best as possible. I feel blessed to be in this major, and to be able to someday work with children to help them understand, come to terms with, and hopefully improve their fluency and speech disorders.
